Casualties from the action on 30/31st July 1917 -
the first day of the Third Battle of Ypres,
commonly known as Passchendaele

On this day the Battalion was engaged in an action at Pilkem Ridge.  

The Battalion was relieved on 1st August and spent most of that month in Camps engaged in training.

Capt Davie RAMC wrote: "It is a long time now since your son became a stretcher bearer in the battalion.  He was absolutely invaluable..on account of his experience and his perfect steadiness in action.
