David Alexander Webster was the third son of Gordon Webster, a forester's labourer, and Margaret Marshall of Mill of Kelty, Methlick.
He was born on 13th January 1892 and educated at Methlick Higher Grade School. In civilian life he was a farm servant.
He joined the Gordon Highlanders on 27th September 1914, shortly after the outbreak of War. He served in France and Flanders from 2nd May 1915 until his death at Beaumont Hamel on 13th Novenber 1916.
He is buried at Y RAVINE CEMETERY, BEAUMONT-HAMEL and commemorated on the Methlick War Memorial.
